Abe promoting the album "Pop"
Mao Abe is a japanese pop-rock artist, with various important hits, who debuted 2009 in Japan and 2010 in the Phoenix Charts. She´s known as the japanese Avril Lavigne, who also is one of Abe´s idols.

Mao Abe had her "Phoenix" debut with the song "Free" from her first album, with the same name, which got first noticed in October 2010 by the Phoenix readers. In November it had entered the national charts and in December the international one, where it stayed till the end of January. It also became the biggest jrock hit of 2010.
While the BU100 existed the second hit single "Tsutaetai Koto" from the album "Pop" entered this part of the charts several times. The song also became on of the most important karaoke hits of 2010.
The third single entering the Phoenix Charts was "19-Sai No Uta" from the album "Su.", which became only an average success. Even less success had the song "Kirei No Uta" also from the album "Free" in early spring 2011. Since then Abe hasn´t entered the Phoenix Charts at all.
